Guide to Riding in Fall

We’ve left behind warm summer mornings when a light mesh jersey and bibs would suffice; however, we're not reaching for our heavy-duty winter jackets quite yet. We’re in a sweet spot when proper layering requires thought and anticipation.

Autumn brings crisp mornings followed by warmer afternoons and more often than not a chance of rain. As bright, carefree days get a bit darker and leaves begin to fall, stay strong and cheerful with these two thoughtful kits and complements to riding in autumn weather. Discover two setups for total temp control and water protection on all kinds of autumn rides.

Our it's-looking-quite-cloudy-out setup

Keep your core in check with a Base Layer that manages temperature control even after getting soaked. On top of this foundational piece, throw on an ultra comfortable Long Sleeve Jersey that provides warmth and breathability at once. Stay calm knowing your DWR-treated Thermal Bibs have got you covered in the likely event of rainy ride. Their brushed fleece interior means, much like the Long Sleeve Jersey, the on-skin feel is soft and inviting. Your most important outer layer, our Rain Jacket, is made up of two cooperating layers: the outer layer maintains a DWR coating and the inner, hexagonal membrane is completely waterproof. This double layer system paired with a central double zipper as well as underarm zippers for ventilation, means versatility and efficiency.

Our shedding-layers-all-day transeasonal setup

This is the complete kit for fresh mornings that fade into blissful, balmy afternoons--a setup that means starting off with layers on layers and then shedding into a lighter look. The crucial foundation of this versatile outfit mirrors the kit above with a temp-control Base Layer and a plush Long Sleeve Jersey. Now is when layering come into play. Depending on the temperature range, you'll either reach for a Light Gilet or a Light Jacket. We’ve reworked our basic gilet to bring you the most adaptable garment so far. With strategically placed mesh details and a two-way VISLON® zipper, temperature control comes easy. Like our Light Gilet, our Light Jacket it adjustable, wind-destroying, and stowable. Take comfort in knowing you’re completely prepared to confront today’s blustery changes.
